Jim has competed in British Eventing since 2004, initially on Chancer (15.2) then Trigger(Danlee-16.1) and Beau (16.3)  He has been a member of the Vale of York Pony Club since he was 9 years old.

He competed in the Pony Club Area competition on Chancer in dressage, show jumping and horse trials in 2005. He also represented Selby and District Riding Club in dressage, show jumping and Riding Club Test on Chance, reaching the national finals in 2004. He has competed in the Helen Crockatt competition on Lucky Chance 2003 and 2004 and on Danlee in 2005.

Autumn 2005 he bought Haveray Park Beau to replace Chance which he had outgrown. During the Winter months Jim and his horses have competed in dressage and show jumping. Highlights include being the Port Royal Winter Dressage Champion 2005 and the Reserve Champion 2006. He qualified for the JAS finals in 2006/7 with Trigger.

In 2007 Jim was part of the Vale of York Team winning Area Intermediate Dressage.

In 2007 Jim’s best result BE was a 2nd place in the JRN at Belton Park. A picture of the combination appeared in the Horse and Hound.

Jim was selected as a member of the Northern JRN Squad going to the Weston Park Championships is 2006 and 2007.
